ENGIE wins the main lot at transmission auction 02.2024
ENGIE Brasil Energia (EGIE3) was the winning bidder for Lot 1 t the transmission auction held by the Brazilian National Electric Energy agency (Aneel) this Friday, September 27, at the main offices of B3, in São Paulo. The Lot was won at an Annual Allowed Revenue (“Receita Anual Permitida” – RAP) of BRL 252.2 million. ANEEL predicts BRL 2.9 billion in investments for the project.
The contract covers construction of approximately 780 kilometers of transmission lines and 2 new substations – 525 kV Curitiba Oeste and Abdon Batista 2 – to reinforce the electric energy system in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina, and provide service to the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba regions of the state of Minas Gerais; as well as continued services from the existing 162.2 kilometers of transmission lines and 2 substations, 230/138 kV Mascarenhas and 230 kV Aimorés, which serve the state of Espírito Santo and the eastern portion of the state of Minas Gerais. The Lot covers 5 states (Santa Catarina, Paraná, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Espírito Santo) and crosses approximately 60 municipalities.

The public transmission concession service, including licensing, construction, operation and maintenance of the transmission assets, is being awarded for a thirty-year period from execution of the Concession Agreement, which is slated for signing in December.

Activities in the segment
ENGIE already operates over 2.7 thousand kilometers of power lines and 6 own substations in the Transmission segment, with Transmission Systems including Novo Estado, between Pará and Tocantins; Gralha Azul, in Paraná; and Gavião Real, in Pará. The company also has the Asa Branca Transmissora de Energy project underway, with over 1,000 kilometers of transmission lines between Bahia and Espírito Santo, through Minas Gerais.
