ENGIE supplies enegy to the new Florianópolis airport
ENGIE is the energy supplier to the new passenger terminal at the Hercílio Luz International Airport in Florianópolis, which opened to the public on October 1. At an investment of R$ 570 million, the project covers an area of 49 thousand m², four times greater than the current facilities, and a capacity for eight million passengers annually. Management is the responsibility of the Swiss Zurich Airport group which won the concession agreement to operate the new terminal for 30 years.
“We have all the requirements to meet the needs of airport concessionaires which seek economy, flexibility and reliability in energy supply”, says ENGIE Brasil Energia’s Chief Executive Officer, Eduardo Sattamini. The company is to supply the new Florianópolis terminal with renewable energy until 2023 from its generator complex consisting of wind, solar and biomass plants. The company is also a supplier of energy to a further seven airports in different Brazilian state capital cities.
ENGIE offers a complete portfolio of solutions for the requirements of companies, people and cities which include those of energy efficiency, management and monitoring of energy and utilities, building and industrial management, distributed photovoltaic generation and urban electric mobility systems. Some of these solutions are already in use at Charles de Gaulle airport in France for example.
