ENGIE Chairman of the Board named 2023 France-Brazil Personality

The Chairman of ENGIE’s Global Board of Directors of ENGIE, Jean-Pierre Clamadieu, was honored at the 2023 France-Brazil Personality awards, an initiative of the France Brazil Chamber of Commerce (CCIFB-RJ). As President of the France-Brazil Chamber of Commerce in France and President of the Board of the France-Brazil Companies of MEDEF International, the executive has a lengthy track record of work towards strengthening the commercial ties between the two countries, driven mainly by sustainability concerns.
“I have always worked to develop economic exchange between France and Brazil. I am very proud to receive the award at a time when a new chapter is beginning in the political connection between our two countries, with countless opportunities for cooperation in the economic, environmental and cultural fields. The success of ENGIE in Brazil, where it is currently a renewable energy leader, is also an obviously important symbol,” Clamadieu declared.
ENGIE has been present in Brazil for more than 25 years and is the foreign company that has most developed, , implemented, invested in, funded and licensed energy projects in Brazil in the past three decades. The country offers growth opportunities in renewable-source energy generation, in line with the company’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2045.
Award recognizes cooperation between the two countries
Created in 2001, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, the award has already honored more than 20 personalities, representing different action fronts and varied paths traveled, who share the trait of fostering cooperation between Brazil and France. Each year, noteworthy initiatives and leaders are recognized in all manner of fields: diplomatic, socio-economic, business, sporting, political, environmental, charitable, media, cultural, and scientific.
