This year\u2019s call for proposals, which received a record 272 enrollments, prioritized projects involving mental health and those incentivizing Portuguese language and mathematics disciplines, important in driving the evolution\u00a0 of the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB). Each project which is selected will receive R$ 10 thousand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>See all the winning projects in: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engie.com.br\/editaleducacao\/\">www.engie.com.br\/editaleducacao\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The call for Education-related Proposals is to incentivize and finance projects benefiting\u00a0 children and adolescents at the elementary and junior high-school levels in both private- and public-school networks. Among the criteria for selection are viability, innovation, coverage, and replicability. Out of the 36 projects selected this year, 30 will be supported in full by ENGIE Brasil Energia and the other six by partners Voltalia and Portonave. The relative resources will be transferred to the winning institutions\u00a0 before the\u00a0 end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are convinced education transforms. And it is very gratifying to see the\u00a0 positive impact that these projects have on the formation of so many youngsters, protecting the mental health of our children and adolescents in such complex times and contributing to the construction of a solid educational base which will make the difference irrespective of\u00a0 the particular professional area they may wish to pursue \u201d, point\u2019s out ENGIE Brasil Energia\u2019s Chief People, Processes and Sustainability Officer, Luciana Nabarrete.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The previous three editions of the call for education-related projects sponsored by ENGIE impacted more than 15 thousand children and adolescents in the municipalities where the Company conducts its operations. The expectation this year is to be able to proactively impact\u00a0 about eight thousand people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe call for proposals has grown year after year. For this particular edition, we saw an increase of nearly 20% in the number of enrollments, clear recognition of the initiative\u2019s importance.
