Operating in the national market since August 2023, Descarbonize is a partner in the negotiation of carbon credits in energy generation using 100% renewable sources in the country. Now, with the investment received by EIT InnoEnergy, a European company that works to accelerate the energy transition through a sustainable energy innovation ecosystem made up of dozens of startups, Descarbonize also has access to the international market.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, companies in Europe that enter into a partnership with Descarbonize will also be able to buy carbon credits issued by ENGIE in Brazil, representing a significant enlargement of our market\u201d, adds Energy Commercialization Officer at ENGIE Brasil, Gabriel Mann.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are satisfied with this investment, not only because of the rapid growth of Descarbonize, but also in the context of our aim to accelerate an energy transition which is fair to all, supporting and simplifying the way ahead for customers and companies in their decarbonization journeys\u201d, declares ENGIE Brasil Energia\u2019s CEO, Eduardo Sattamini. The company has the right to obtain 10% of Descarbonize shares in case it executes its conversion right.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The software solution developed by Descarbonize, enables to measure the carbon footprint emitted by a company or event through the provision by the user of a data stream. Some examples of what generate emissions are: electricity consumed, use of fuels on combustion engines, waste generated, among others. Descarbonize\u2019s platform also presents customers with carbon credits, which are generated by ENGIE\u2019s renewable power plants in case companies want to compensate its emissions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acceleration of the decarbonization<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Descarbonize has developed a software solution that allows companies to have visibility on their supply chain carbon emissions, which is where most of the emissions happen (i.e. Scope 3).
