ENGIE concludes the implementation of the Gavião Real Transmissora de Energia Project
The result of a successful bid at the Aneel 01/2022 Transmission Auction, the Gavião Real Project comprises the expansion of the Itacaiúnas Substation with the installation of two 230/138kV transformers and a new 138kV switchyard for meeting the requirements of the energy distribution network in the state of Pará. ENGIE’s third transmission asset, the implementation of Gavião Real has shared synergies with the Company’s Novo Estado Transmissora de Energia, the commercial operation of which began in December 2021.
With an investment of approximately R$ 80 million and a contracted Annual Allowed Revenue of R$ 7.1 million (baseline July/23), Gavião Real has been concluded 20 months ahead of the maximum term stipulated for completion by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
“We now have three energy transmission concessions in commercial operations, and are making headway on the implementation of a further 1,000 kilometers of transmission line with the Asa Branca project, totally aligned to our strategy of transmission infrastructure growth in Brazil and portfolio diversification”, points out Eduardo Sattamini, ENGIE Brasil Energia Chief Executive Officer.
